AST 1 – 8 hour Hands-on Field Training

Instructor student ratio 8:1
Field days may be added or canceled depending on the number of registered students.

February 11, 2012 – Saturday – accepting registrations

MEET IN GOLDEN AT AVALANCHE SAFETY SOLUTIONS SHOP AT 7:30am
You must be ready to travel. There is no time for stops for fuel, coffee or food after 7:30am.
Have sled and gear ready for fast start once at the staging area.

If weather or road related issues cause you to be late or not able to attend please call 250-344-1250.

Staging Location – Quartz Creek – Golden, BC (road conditions permitting)
Session Start – 8:30 am – Geared up, trail pass purchased (bring cash) and ready to ride.
Gather at instructor’s vehicle near the Quartz Creek parking lot trail booth. Travel in together.

*Please bring your AVALUATOR2 cards with you. *
(AVALUATOR2 cards are included in the AST 1 Classroom session. If you attended your AST1 classroom session in a previous year, you may purchase these new edition booklets/cards for $15)
Return Time ~ 5:30 pm

Quartz is approx 33 km west of Golden on Hwy#1, approx a 20 minute drive. Before arriving at Quartz you will cross a bridge and pass a highway rest stop that is on the left side of the road. The highway widens to turning lanes and there is a small ‘snowmobile’ sign on the right side of the road at the Quartz turn off. The parking lot is located on the left side of the highway.

This facility is easy walking distance to restaurants and lounges. Excellent truck/trailer parking in the open lot in front.
Phone the hotel directly to book your room. There are limited rooms. In order to secure the special rates, please identify that you are with the Zac’s Tracs avalanche class.
